Official Livingston County criminal records must come from the office that created or maintains them. The contacts below separate sheriff and jail material from Circuit Clerk files and statewide criminal-history responses. Livingston County Criminal History is privately operated and cannot issue, correct, or certify a government record.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

Need an Official Record?

Use the custodian that matches the requested Livingston County record:

  • Court case files: Livingston County Circuit Clerk, 110 N. Main Street, Pontiac, IL 61764, (815) 844-2602, weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Criminal records and rap sheets: contact the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification
  • Arrest, booking, and jail records: Livingston County Sheriff's Office, 844 W. Lincoln Street, Pontiac, IL 61764, (815) 844-2774; jail line (815) 844-5774
  • Official background checks: order through the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification
  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
  • Expungement and record sealing: file with the court that heard the case

The sheriff's business office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily except holidays. Circuit Clerk questions may also be sent to circuitclerk@livingstoncountyil.gov. Ask the creating police department for an incident narrative; the clerk cannot supply that investigative report.
